Victorian Gothic Revival Oak Shelf

£220.00Price

Victorian Gothic Revival oak open bookcase, dating from around 1880–1900. Potentially from a Church, School or Hall. Featuring finely hand-carved tracery panels and an oak leaf and acorn frieze beneath a castellated top rail. Constructed in solid quarter-sawn oak, traditional 19th-century craftsmanship. The detailed tracery and naturalistic carving reflect the late Victorian fascination with medieval and ecclesiastical design, influenced by Pugin and the Arts & Crafts movement.
